AvantiPlus Croydon presented by Andrew Steele

Well after almost 2 months I've finally posted some photos.

Shopfront all done and finally painted the brickwork.
Kids bikes and trikes.
Next project is a refit.Cruiser with mirrors and horn to bling it up.The now cramped workshop will be opened up it currently copes with around 6-10 repairs per day.The garage stores all the serviced bikes and laybys that are awaiting collection or completion. The back of the shop has plenty of room for the kids to play and u can see the rear sign visible from Exeter Rd.

Done and Dusted.....

Well it's taken much longer than anticipated but it's finally happened.

I'm in!

Friday December 19th I was handed the keys to the shop.
It's been crazy since.
The shop had almost ZERO stock when I took over, but I managed to get 22 bikes on the first day, and a few lights and pumps of a friend in the trade also.
Saturday I managed to buy a dozen bike racks or so.
So it's starting to fill up, ever so slowly.
Tomorrow I'm getting a truck and picking up about 40bikes from Avanti.
And in the new year another 60-70 bikes will turn up too.

The major re-fit will begin in the new year and it should be much more impressive by the time the TdF Battles are on this year, we'll have a few tour nights with beer so watch this space!!!

It's a great feeling, finally my own boss.

So if your coming past, make sure u drop in and say hello!

Look who's BACK!!!!!!

THEKILLERANT!!!!!!!!!
HELLLOOOO VAGINA'S! My CoT brothers in other words..look who couldnt stay away from the land of the blog! After maybe 18months or so of blog deprivation im back and as motivated as ever..not sure to what end but im all fired up.

The update.

Im not working at le tour anymore, and as a consequence not riding a specialized road frame either but who knows...in the future i may grace one again as they sure are a damn good thing, especially at the s-works level. I do miss my TarmacSL, we had a good run together over the 2years i punted along on it.

The new roadie is quite nice, it certainly looks good in the sunlight which is all important now isnt it ;) But yeah im happy enough with it for now. Its done a few time trials and will get its road race cherry busted wide open when im better (have been severly sick for a week now and my next road race will be the Doh'erty tour in mid november). The setup on this frame is really good for my sizing and its light and looks pretty stealthy with only minimal white paint highlights. Its the 2009 Orca SL for the un-initiated ;)

I havent touched the MTB in months as i've focussed 100% on road and the motivation levels have been good so i havent felt the need to mix things up with the duely. But i sure look forward to getting back on the trails and having fun again in the bush.
Apart from that stuff im presently trying to stop myself from buying a motorbike. Its a full time gig just trying to stay away from the dealerships! My interest was nutured from an early age with Dad and Brother being full addicts and although i could afford it i think other things in life would suffer with the tightening of the belt from week to week. But just for interests sake ive thrown in a pic of the Fiat Yamaha (you know who's) bike at motoGP at the island two w/e's ago. GO!!!!
Time for me to go and keep on resting up, surely this damn bug ive picked up will let me back out on the road before too long!

Too much pot...

Captain Stupid? Is this my new name? Why you may ask? Well on Tuesday night I did something I have never done before, I stacked my bike of my own accord (well apart from dropping it in the wet on corners). How did it happen??
It was a fairly standard day, I had ridden to work (minus a bit of fitness) and pushed off at 5pm to ride home. I had just crested the top of the climb which is in the middle of my ride and started the decent back to my car in Dederang. It was just before 6pm at this point and I had all lights blazing on my bike, and had cranked it up to about 50kph, loving the downhill run. At this point I got distracted by something behind, did a quick head check, and as I was turning back “BAM”!
I hit something major and suddenly I had zero control over the bike. The front end was wobbling like mad and I knew I was going down. All I thought was “Head left, head left!” as grass is softer than asphalt.
After that all I remember is lying on the ground talking to the policeman from Dederang and answering the ambos questions. The trip to Wodonga hospital seemed to take only 5 mins (it was really about 35mins), and I remember seeing the new Simpson was on when getting wheeled through the emergency dept and saying “Damn I am missing the Simpsons!” Luckily, I had no bad damage apart from a badly banged up head, so they let me out at about 12.30pm. The other bonus is the hospital is literally around the corner from my girlfriend’s house, where I had a few day of TLC. What caused me to fall?? A pothole right in the left wheel line of travel, but have a look a the following picture montage…

Ok caption time anyone? And no, its not two face from the new Batman movie...
