Steve on his way to a valuable 3 second time bonus and $5 cash for 2nd place in the first KOM (stage 2) at the TOFH. Too bad Steve cramped on the 4th and final KOM of the stage (around the 78km mark) and lost 9 mins 16 seconds! Steve rode around 145kms total for the day (stage 1 was approx 40kms that morning). He also hurt his knee because he hadn't lowered his saddle position after changing his pedals, shoes, and saddle. Steve abandoned the tour during stage 3 at the same time as former tour leader and stage 1 winner, Andrew "Big Man" Steele who has now retired from cycling.
