These bikes were a one off, to celebrate their 20th Anniversary, so they bought out 20limited edition bikes.
No doubt the ADT Principles were applied, a top end bike around the $8k price and with standard features like, full carbon frame with integrated seat pillar, full Durarchy 10Spd, Kysrium ES Wheels, Carbon Bottle Cages.
Seeing this sort of thing, I always have a good giggle when Avanti rant on about their bikes and their quality, comparing themselves in spec and price to Specialized. What a joke, they even bought out a brochure explaining their ADT (Avanti Design Technology).
Which is hilarious when you consider that this is a company that buy almost all their frames out of a Taiwanese catalogue, just requesting their own color scheme and decal set.
In this case it's a 'claytons' integrated post that has failed, any PEANUT can see is poorly designed. It's basically a non-integrated seat pillar, with a integrated extension added on as an after thought, then to reinforce it they've stuck what appears to be just a section of seat post down the tube to secure it, but cut it off so that an actual seat post can be stuck in there aswell.
It's failed because the insert hasn't been pressed down far enough, similar to not putting ur sear pole in far enough on a regular frame design.
Good work!
Makes and interesting bike, poor bugger is still picking the carbon shards from his date.....
