Braddles has been so happy with this bike that although he felt the desire for change, he wanted to make sure he didn't go backwards from what already seemed perfect, and I'd have to agree I won a big race on the same bike and I loved it.
So the shopping list was started, with Braddles giving me a clean slate of what the best goodies should be.
The result was simple.
Groupo - SRAM Red, worlds lightest groupo.
Frameset - Specialized Tarmac SL2, worlds best frame, lightest, stiffest and most compliant.
Wheels - Zero 380 Wheels (non-dimpled Zipp 303 rims built with DT 240 Hubs), Braddles had a little say in this, gimme some deep dish carbon wheels I can ride every day he said!
It was also time for a new handlebar, stem & saddle.
Specialized Pro Alloy Bar & Stem, with shallow drop and short reach a nice comfy option for the cafe' king!
Saddle - Specialized Toupe' Gel
So there u go, one hell of a bike, and we won't even talk price, other than to say, if we had of bought it off the shelf from Specialized like this it would have been close to $15k
