Farm Gunsle...

Well after several months of construction, a few nights in the shed with the kids and days in the backyard, finally I've finished building my chicken coop.
I bought plans for this off eBay. $30USD, only down side was that all the measurements were in imperial.
So just in time for Jai's 4th birthday we finished it and headed down to Chesterfield Farm to buy 4 chooks. 1 per kid, Jai the Pies supporter picked the little black/white one.
And here they are, after a bit of a 4-kid discount from the nice guy at chesterfield they made it home safely in their cardboard box. $12 for small chooks, $14 for medium $20 for full size laying.
Once the bloke noticed I had 4 kids he's like Geez better do them for $10ea! Thankyouverymuch!

While not expecting eggs for at least a few weeks, the biggest chook, nickname 'Mother Hen' gave Jai a bit of a suprise for his birthday and he found this fresh egg.
So Fluffy the rabbit has some company in the backyard now and has moved up the pecking order as she chases the chooks about. Jaida is still top dog in the B/Yard though! Then I mode jai a bit of a cake for his birthday. Go Pies
