I'm trying to work out how when Steve sits-on for nearly 40kms in a 4 man chase group, refusing to work etc. the only photo of the group shows him 'appearing' to work a turn?I will contact AR and Wevans and see if they can explain this phenomenon.
If that fails ill have to ask Mr DeGama how his software program can perform these miracles.
Fascinating.

Obviously I was on the front more than you thought!
hahaha
It's a good photo but! Is anyone going to get it? And I forgot to ask TKA, who was that leggy blonde showing off her scar work on Sun? You are so in with her..
yeah i love her, she's great, im going to try and get to know her better, she's hot, really nice, no ego, i love her
i havent told u yet timmy, a certain someone did NO work in a chase group on saturday, leaving ALL the work to two noobs.
t9e0 i loove u
gunsle i love u
monster i loved u
not ghey on all three counts
lol @ monster's 'photo pose', he loves David DeGama, look at the 'I'm frigin' driving this break' pose he's got goin on. Haha.
I'm with you TKA.
Did I ever tell you, when Monster won the club road champs @ East Wandin beating Rich E and GG and Myself, in the last 40km he only hit the front for the first time with about 100m togo. I even pushed him up the last hill when he dropped his chain, despite the fact I'd been dropped and was just yoyo'ing off the back.
And he told us that was 'the old Monster'
Go Tom Go!
C%nt...
LMAO. Hey Gunsle, who actually stopped and waited for you when you punctured in the 2002 Club Road Champs? That's right, me and Richard England. Who's idea was it? Mine. Who sprinted off the front of the bunch (after telling the bunch that this was not an attack) to get back to where your Dad was and ask him to get a spare wheel for you?
Ant, that blonde chick is a trackie. Also Ant, after chasing for about 5 or 10km together, that group of 4 was no longer a chase group. It was a dropped bunch of Blackburn riders who just needed to finish the stage together and start thinking about tomorrow. If you wanted me to do more work then you should have got off the front or slowed down.
if i didnt keep doing turns AR would have rode off into the distance because YOU kept leaving gaps and refusing to work.
at least ill tell u what i think about u monster.
i gave u an energy bar.
i kept asking how u felt.
i kept doing hard turns so that u could recover so eventually u would do some pulls.
Would u prefer that i talked behind ur back like some other riders do or discuss with u directly??
*i choose to chase because at the warny we chased for 3hrs flat out and 3 of the 6 of my chase group got back on just after the first feed.
Did those 3 of 6 in the warny chase group also get dropped again when it got hard? Did they finish in the places? Sounds like 3hrs of wasted effort to me. Fucking 3hrs chasing? WTF, I've never even chased pussy that long.
I'll tell you what I do. Instead of chasing for 3hrs @ 100% I'll chase or bust my boiler @ 150% for 30secs-5mins to get back on, once they're gone, they're gone. Any effort beyond that is wasted. When crunch time comes you need to stand up and be counted, or fuck the hell off. If u fuck the hell off, just start a laughing bunch and roll along to the finish. If Anyone wants to go harder than that. Tell them to fuck off, or let them go, if they want it that bad, they can have it. This will give you the opportunity to chat to other fellow dropped riders, earn some respect, make some excuses and feel well warmed down and shit when u get to the finish. It's all about minimizing you're effort. Why do you think McEwen finished 45mins down in a TDF stage? Do you think he chases as hard as he fucken can to get as little time loss as possible? Fuck no, he just rides to finish in the best possible shape he can and within the time limits.
Seriously, and I know you'll get all defensive and shit cause ur the cycling nub and u know it. But we're only trying to help you brother. We love you and we enjoy seeing you grow. We don't bother with this info for T(e) cause he's too gay. Your the future and we want to help you.
Fuck off if u get defensive I'll slap you too.
Just smile and say thanks guys :) next time maybe I'll know better.
Great advice gunsle - all of it. You put into words what I could not. There is a lot of insight and wisdom in that comment that may go over some nubs heads but if they read it carefully, and re-read it to make sure they understand exactly what you have said, they could learn a lot. I reckon that comment is comment of the year and should be printed and given to every new roadie in Australia, seriously.
Note: Gunsle has approx. 16 years road racing experience and represented Victoria at Junior Road Nationals (where he collected 2 medals). He knows what he is talking about.
Thanks Monster, your probably the only tactitian on the same leve, then again I taught you everything I know, then you improved on it. Now you can ride 4:54 poo-chute's. Well done man!!!
GG
everyone jump in and justify monsters weak actions
what a disapointment
Hahaha TKA is so insolent.
That'd be like me contradicting his advice on golf.
kkpro....stay n00b see if we care.
And when they start handing out prizemoney for working turns let me know as I'm good at that. Actually I'm the best.
Ant, seriously, it made ZERO difference if we finished 5 minutes faster or 5 minutes slower. I'd already stayed with the leaders as long as I could and I got dropped for a reason: they were going faster than I could. If I had the strength/fitness to keep working strong turns all the way to the finish then I wouldn't have been dropped in the first place.
You possibly don't realize how much strength, fluids, weight and fitness I lost when I got very sick with that vomiting/gastro thing just 8 days before the tour started. I couldn't even get out of bed for a day and a half then had diarrhoea until the day before the tour started. It's not an excuse, it's a fact.
Can I just say that hindsight is a wonderful thing and why wasn't this shit sorted out on the road???
What's the point in going over something that is done and dusted?
